I found it in a rich guy’s trash at work. I know it’s sterling silver, made by Tiffany and Co, and engraved with “Winston Motorsport.” I have no idea what it is, though, or where it came from. Do you have any ideas?

my first thought was a nose piercing with a charm on it. I’m probably wrong but kids these days.... who knows.

Scale?
Looks like jewelry. That near ball screws off for easy insertion. So what size is it? Nose ring / Ear ring / Prince Albert?

Too big to be a nose ring. The charm is about the size of a penny.

Bingo! I wonder if this is a custom engraving, though, or if it’s from some event or something.

And if I recall correctly Winston Motorsports refers to Winston as in Winston Cup. I remember seeing hats and shirts back then that said Winston Motorsports. I can’t see someone buying one of these from a souvenir trailer at a race, though.

If you google “Winston Motorsports Zippo” you’ll find a bunch of hits for lighters with this same logo. My guess is that it was SWAG (or merchandise) for back when NASCAR was intertwined with tobacco products. It’s a cool little key ring with a definite tie-in to racing. Now, the tobacco angle, that’s up to you to decide if its a plus or minus.
Myself, I’d clean it up and use it. It’s Tiffany so why not have something nice?

Winston? Maybe a gift from back in the day when Nascar was sponsored by Winston, and called the Winston Cup Series?

It’s a key ring with the keys removed. He presumably bought the Winston charm separately and added it back when he had keys on the ring to go with it. The balls on the ends unscrew to add keys or charms or whatever.
